Motorola unveiled a new device for the Far East region, or so we think. The name of the phone is Motorola XT615 and it will first be available in Taiwan through Taiwan Mobile starting mid-December. We’re talking about a solid mid-range device with specs that include an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, 4-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with flash on the back, VGA front-facing camera, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, memory expansion slot, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. Size wise, the XT615 measures 117.7×60.5×9.85 mm and weighs 123.6 grams. It will be available for 10,900 Taiwanese dollars, which translates into about $360. Of course, that’s the off-contract price, with no strings attached.

No word when nor whether this baby will ever be available elsewhere. If I had to guess, the XT615’s next destination is China and perhaps other countries in the region. We’ll see…
