File this under “rumors” but it’s likely that the European debut of the Microsoft Surface tablet will closely follow the U.S. launch. The device has been caught at several European Microsoft websites, including France, Italy and the United Kingdom. That, however, doesn’t prove a thing. However, some other leaks suggest that Australia will get the Surface on October 26th, so it’s possible that Europeans will get the same treatment as well. After all, major countries of the Old Continent present a much bigger opportunity for the Redmond giant. That said, I would guess Microsoft is in talks with a number of retail chains as we speak and that soon enough we’ll have them officially unveiling distribution plans — i.e. where exactly will you be able to grab their tablet if you fancy so. Moreover, with Windows 8 slated to be released on October 26, 2012, one would think they’ll want to take advantage of the moment and sell the Surface (alongside other, partner-made products).
