Nokia announces three new phones: 2700 classic, 6303 classic and 6700 classic

Nokia unveiled three new feature phones – Nokia 2700 classic, Nokia 6303 classic, and Nokia 6700 classic. According to the Finnish giant’s press release, the new devices were built on the formula that made Nokia the world leader in mobile phones, combining the functionality and user experience with premium designs and materials. Let’s briefly go through each of the phones announced:

  • First comes the Nokia 2700 classic, which looks quite solid for a low-to-mid range device. Priced at only 65 EUR before taxes and subsidies, this candybar packs a 2 megapixel camera, microSD expansion slot (memory cards of up to 2GB are supported), Bluetooth, music player. Nokia will start shipping the 2700 classic in Q2 2009.
  • Then there’s the Nokia 6303 classic, which in my opinion is a bit uglier than its older brother, 6300 classic. Specs wise, there’s a 3.2 megapixel camera on board, 2.2-inch screen, standard 3.5mm audio jack, and pre-loaded Nokia Maps. At just 135 EUR before taxes and subsidies, it should sell like hot cupcakes.
  • Finally, the Nokia 6700 classic is the best-looking of the three handsets, combining smooth surfaces, rich materials and precisely crafted parts with a full metal keymat which completes the premium finish. Highlights include a 5 megapixel camera, aGPS with Nokia Maps, and 3G. Nokia will sell the 6700 classic for 235 EUR, again before taxes and subsidies.

There you have it. There are no doubts in my mind all three devices announced will be winners in their respective categories. Well balanced price-features ratio is there and so is the design…
