Twitter to add Instagram-style photo filters to its mobile apps?

Twitter apparently doesn’t like the fact that Facebook is now the owner of Instragram and is reportedly working to add photo filters to its mobile apps. The information from The New York Times though as I’m writing this we can’t really say with certainty something like this will happen any time soon (if it happens at all). However, we can imagine the company dislikes that its huge customer base relying on Facebook products and services. And since they seem to want more control over the platform, we wouldn’t be surprised if Twitter mobile apps across all popular platforms getting photo filters. If that happens, one could also envision Twitter’s photo effect app accessing parts of the platform which are not available for other services like Instagram.
