ZiiLabs Makes Android HD-Capable

In a prototype setup that looks awfully reminiscent of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon demo at CES, chip maker ZiiLabs was showing off what their new ZMS-05 processor could do at Mobile World Congress. As you can see, it’s rocking the graphics quite soundly, although it’s a bit funny that you would need such a big TV just to notice the difference. Everything up to 1080p will run smooth as butter on their chip, including movies and even the core UI. Snazzy. Now it’s just a matter of convincing manufacturers to pick it up… The new Omnia HD has set the bar for this kind of high-end mobile video playback, and it will only be a matter of time before someone decides to prove Android can play that game too.
