In addition to announcing entry into the overseas market in fiscal 2010, Keisuke Ishii, director of Panasonic’s Mobile Terminal Business Unit, has said they’re “seriously considering developing an Android-based handset”. About every other manufacturer has at acknowledged their interest in Google’s mobile OS, if not gone out and actually done it already (as Samsung and Motorola have), so it’s not a huge surprise to see Panasonic getting into it. Studies are showing a bright future for Android, and Panasonic is apparently eager to get their piece of the pie. The first year for the platform was a little slow, but 2009 really is shaping up to be a busy one as manufacturers other than HTC start having their hand at Android.
