Citibank realizes it needs to: 1) return money it owes to the government; 2) serve better its customers. I’m not an expert on the former, but I can tell few words on the latter. As part of the “better serving its customers” idea, they’ve launched Citi Mobile application for popular smartphone platforms to allow users to access and manage their bank accounts while on-the-go.
From their press release, we learn they talk about BlackBerry smartphones, Palm devices (Pre?), and the iPhone. Feature wise, the application allows users to see their account balances and account activity, pay bills and set up recurring payments, make transfers between Citi accounts, locate Citi branches and ATMs, and connect to Customer Service.
There’s no special procedure involved, and a regular username/pwd combination you use to access Citi’s e-banking service will work on a smartphone, as well. If anyone of you, our readers, had a chance to try out Citi Mobile, we’d like to hear your thoughts. Comments form is all yours…
