Word has it AT&T and Apple are working together on some custom updates to the iPhone operating system that would allow push notifications to warn about approaching overage charges, and voicemail options that would bypass or eliminate default voicemail greetings. These are apparently in a bid to raise customer satisfaction that has taken a beating over AT&T’s coverage and service. Given, they’ve been upgrading the network in order to support the hordes of data-hungry iPhone owners, but a little device-side lovin’ (we’re still waiting on iPhone MMS) could certainly help keep customers on AT&T without having them flock to another carrier once exclusivity runs out.
