qStatus is QTweeter for non-jailbroken iPhones

qStatus

Remember qTwitter, the application that allows users of jailbroken iPhones/iPod Touches to update their Twitter and Facebook statuses within seconds by simply swiping the screen? Well, jailbreaking of your beloved gadget is not needed any more to be able to do that.

Thanks to the new application called qStatus, you can do pretty much the same thing. Actually, you will have to start the application the way you start other apps, but the look and feel are virtually identical.

Of course, prior you start updating your Facebook and Twitter account, you’ll need to setup your accounts in qStatus. This is done through oAuth and Facebook Connect, meaning the process is pretty seamless and secure — they don’t store your information. Then, once you’re all set, your tweeting and “facebooking” can start, this time in a much faster way. qStatus works with TwitPic and TwitVid, meaning you will be able to share much more than pure text — images and video clips included.

There are also other customizations available like choosing a background, which service you want to update (Twitter, Facebook or both), which sound you want to hear when an update is sent, and so on. I’ll stop here and let you be the judge whether qStatus worth paying 99 cents. If you’re an avid Twitter and Facebook user, you’ll grab it right away. But before you do so, make sure to check out a short video demoing the application in action after the jump. Enjoy!
