Modu going Android?

Modu going Android?

File this under “rumors,” but it looks like the Israel-based Modu is thinking to jump to Android platform. In an interview with Techradar, the company’s Dov Moran said that an Android based jacket is being developed and that Modu2 “will be a touchscreen, a very unique concept, and will justify its label of being innovative. It will be a 3.5G product, but will also have a number of other features.”

Is this the same device we’ve heard is coming next year? It’s hard to tell at this stage, and we can only keep our fingers crossed at this stage.

In addition, we’ve also heard Modu is working on the Android-powered netbook, which is something I personally look forward to.

The way I see it, adopting Android would certainly be beneficial for the creator of the world’s lightest phone. Why bother with the hard-core OS programming, when you take one off-the-shelf for free? In addition, this would propel Modu to the high-end market quickly and make one more reason for Motorola to acquire them. 😉
