GooSync, the service for syncing of Google Calendar (and other PIM data from the cloud) with your mobile calendar, will no longer be available in a free version. The reason seems the tough economic environment and the official line goes like this: “it has become increasingly more difficult to continue this high level of service to both Premium and Free users.” Hence, free users will have to pay something in order to keep using the service. But it’s really not much what GooSync is asking – one-year Premium subscription costs £19.95, two-year – £29.95 and a lifetime option is available for £39.95. Plus, to additionally sweeten the deal and to make transition smoother, the company has made available a new option called GooSync Lite, which costs only £5.99 per year.
In the same release, GooSync says the version 2.1 is ready for the release, meaning it will hit a Premium account near you in no time.
