The Qik mobile video streaming app can now keep tabs on your location and include it with the saved video. You can granulate how specific the GPS tracking is for each video, either from a city, street, or precise levels. Of course, you can always turn off video geotagging altogether, but why would you want to do that? Location data adds a lot of relevant context to content, and odds are if you’re the dork with the smartphone recording people and transmitting their video live to the internet, you aren’t too much of a stickler for privacy.
The new feature is available in both Qik Premium and Standard editions, so go ahead and get downloading the iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, or BlackBerry apps.
