Contact UsNot sure why every handset maker thinks it needs a custom Android UI, but hey – that’s the just the world works these days. Sure there were times when pure Android experience wasn’t good enough, but Ice cream Sandwich pretty much rocks even in its basic form. ZTE is joining this (crazy?) trend with its Mifavor UI, which looks everything but innovative, borrowing elements from Sammy’s TouchWIZ, HTC’s Sense and even the Apple iOS. Then again, I’m not sure there’s much to be done, with most users appreciating quick access … Read more
Microsoft’s confirmed that they’re taking Windows Phone downmarket with Tango, and this week we saw the first handset to be announced running said OS: Nokia’s Lumia 610. But there’s another device running Tango that didn’t get a lot of attention, the ZTE Orbit. Now before you get confused about Tango, we should say that there are two versions. One is called Tango I and the other is aptly called Tango II. The first version runs on devices like the Lumia 610, meaning hardware with an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor that’s … Read more
ZTE took a bold step at Mobile World Congress by introducing a handful of Android and Windows Phone handsets. We got some hands-on time with the Era, ZTE’s flagship Android phone. The Era has specs that rival the HTC One X andĀ breaks ZTE away from its reputation as a low-end manufacturer. The Era is a slim phone (7.8mm thick) which is the first thing you notice when you hold the phone in your hand. It has an aluminum backing with rubberized edges at the top and bottom which gives the … Read more
Microsoft has taken to its blog to detail the upcoming Tango update, which is largely believed to be a minor update to the Windows 7.5 Mango platform currently available on Windows Phone devices. Tango is the platform that will be preloaded on Nokia’s recently announced entry-level Lumia 610 and ZTE Orbit devices, which are due out in Q2. Tango will be released en masse sometime in April, and will likely hit all Windows Phone devices currently on the market. Tango adds greater support for low-end devices, and will work on … Read more
Mobile World Congress has officially kicked off and ZTE didn’t waste any time announcing an obscene amount of devices today. The ZTE Era runs on the NVIDIA … Read more
ZTE kind of went nuts at Mobile World Congress, as the company introduced multiple smartphones and tablets, highlighted by the quad-core ZTE Era smartphone. You can look forward to a nice 4.3-inch screen and an 8-megapixel camera. Along with the Era, ZTE also announced multiple smartphones including the Skate Acqua, Kis, Blade II, and ZTE Mimosa X. ZTE will use Mobile World Congress to announce two solid smartphones, PF200 and N910, both of which offer LTE connectivity while running the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich). The other device, N910, is a CDMA-based device with a 1.5GHz processor, WVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1080p front-facing camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and DLNA. We think it’s … Read more
The Tegra chipset has been primarily the domain of high-end smartphones but the just-announced ZTE Mimosa X shows that NVIDIA is serious about capturing all parts of the market. While it’s not as exciting as the quad-core Tegra 3 phones we’re expecting at Mobile World Congress 2012, the ZTE Mimosa X packs enough features and power to make many customers happy. The ZTE Mimosa X is said to be aimed “squarely at the mainstream,” so look for it to come in at a reasonable price wherever it winds up selling. … Read more
