LG is all proud to announce that it has sold 2 million units of its affordable touchscreen handset – Cookie. What makes this announcement significant is that the Korean company launched the device in October of last year, meaning they reached the milestone within about 6 months.
Of that number, 1.2 million units were sold in Europe, while Latin America and other emerging markets account for 600,000 units. Finally, in Korea, LG sold about 100,000 units since the device has been launched in March.
But LG doesn’t want to stop there. The company plans to ship 8 million more Cookies, to reach its goal of moving a total of 10 million units worldwide. Somehow, I see that happening if not by the end of this year, then in 2010…
