In part 5 of All About Symbian’s Nokia N95 review, the topic of battery life is addressed.
It takes a guy like Steve to really put things into perspective.
He kept a detailed log of what activities have been performed and what sort of impact they had on the battery. Under regular usage patterns the N95 should last an entire day.
Personally, I plug my phone in at night regardless if I have full battery life or not. It’s just a force of habit I’ve developed with practically all my battery powered electronics.
I’m beginning to think we don’t need batteries that last longer, but batteries that can recharge faster. The Technology Review, an MIT publication I recommend everyone subscribe (RSS) to, talks about a certain type of battery that can recharge in under a minute.
Last time I checked, Nokia had a Research Center at MIT. Maybe the people at MIT’s Laboratory for Electromagnetic and Electronic Systems and Nokia’s engineers should have a cup of coffee together one of these days.
Just a thought.
