Dopod introduces BlackBerry Connect 4.0 across Asia

Dopod BlackBerryDopod International and Research In Motion (RIM) recently announced the availability of BlackBerry Connect software v4.0 on 838Pro (aka HTC Hermes/HTC TyTN).

Through the existing licensing relationship between HTC (now the owner of Dopod) and RIM, Dopod will provide BlackBerry Connect software on its Windows Mobile-based 838Pro smartphone to support push-based email services, in conjunction with both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service.

Commenting on the announcement Dopod CEO Jack Tong said: “BlackBerry Connect on Dopod International devices provides an innovative and powerful solution that meets the distinct needs of our mobile users on the go. We are very excited to work with RIM to provide the new BlackBerry Connect software on 838Pro for customers in Hong Kong, Australia and South East Asia.”

Dopod International is the first to offer BlackBerry Connect v4.0 in Asia. (via: the:unwired)
