iPhone 3G technical data and specifications

iPhone 3G dimensionsSure, you already know that the iPhone 3G spec-sheet already lists 3G and GPS as standard equipment, but what else do you get for that new, lower sticker-price? Well, keep reading…

The iPhone 3G isn’t exactly “3G.” What the hell am I talking about? Of course the iPhone 3G is 3G-capable, right?

Actually, the iPhone 3G isn’t “3G” in the strictest interpretation of the term. With HSDPA compatibility, the iPhone 3G can actually pull down wireless data at 3.5G data speeds – not exactly new for many 3G handset owners, but fans of the iPhone’s incredibly sexy design and clean lines will no doubt be scrambling to get on a 3.5G (HSDPA) network near them on their brand new iPhone 3G.

At the risk of drawing the ire of many iPhone haters, I’ve gotta say, the iPhone 3G is even sexier than the first and there’s no other handset that comes close in terms of aesthetic appeal. And, with HSDPA and GPS in tow, the iPhone 3G can now play with the big boys. What more could anyone want? Physical keyboard…bah.

And, that integrated GPS hardware isn’t just good for tracking your position in real-time on Google Maps, it also geo-tags your pictures. Unfortunately, 2 megapixels is as good as it gets on the iPhone 3G, for now.

Hit the link for the rest of the iPhone 3G’s technical specs.
