Apple iPhone 3g coming to RussiaApple is really looking to go truly global this time around with their iPhone handset. After seeing the original iPhone making the rounds in just a handful of countries around the world, Apple has its sights set on making the iPhone 3G a true worldwide phenomenon. And, as such, Apple will likely be tapping the Russian wireless market by year’s end.

The Moscow Times is reporting that Apple is set to close a deal with a Russian wireless carrier to bring the iPhone 3G to the borscht-loving masses. Mobile TeleSystems and MegaFon, two of Russia’s largest wireless carriers, have confirmed talks with Apple to offer the highly sought-after iPhone. VimpelCom, preparing to light-off its 3G network this year, has also been rumored to be in the running for iPhone greatness.

With the iPhone black-market already drawing $1,000 price-tags for first-generation iPhones, there seems to be ample demand for Apple’s mobile phone in the Russian market.

Any Russian readers out there, let us know if you plan to grab yourself an iPhone 3G later this year. Sound off in the comments section.
