Apple ‘Let’s Rock’ Event Unveils iPhone Firmware 2.1

Apple ‘Let’s Rock’ Event Unveils iPhone Firmware 2.1The much anticipated ‘Let’s Rock’ event went down yesterday, and if you are a big fan of the iPod line, you should be mighty happy. New Shuffle colors, new iPod Classics, new Nanos and even a new iPod Touch was announced. Most of them with new form factors, a new OS, and new colors.

I have to admit, I was hoping for the announcement of a new MacBook Pro line, but at an event called ‘Let’s Rock’, I was foolish to think it would happen. I was right… Looks like I’ll have to wait for the next event, probably sometime before the busy holiday season.

There was one important item for iPhone users that dropped at the event. iPhone Firmware has gone to version 2.1. Steve Jobs noted that 2.1 features a whole lot of bug fixes, more stability, less dropped calls, faster backups and a big gain in battery improvement. To my disappointment there was still no mention of a copy/paste function. Is copy/paste too much to ask for?
