In case you missed the big champagne bottle opening for the New Year or want to repeat the experience this time without an actual bottle, you may be interested to try out the iChampagne app on your iPhone/iPod Touch. The application uses the device’s built-in accelerometer, allowing users to shake the virtual bottle of champagne and pop the cork. If you shake it extra hard, you’ll hear the room cheering and trumpets sound, which is kinda cool.
Still, it can’t match the real thing with all the people around you cheering and counting to zero. Not to mention there’s nothing to drink once the virtual champagne is opened. 🙁
On the other hand, at just $0.99 it’s way cheaper than the real deal and, in that sense, it’s a funny little app that removes all the post-pop hassle. Here’s the AppStore link (iTunes) from where you can grab it.
