Want to try out (in my opinion) one of the best games yet for the iPhone? ‘Rolando’ now has a ‘lite’ version available for free, which lets you play and explore the first level of the game. The first level is a tutorial of sorts, and it takes you through ‘Honeycup Meadows’. You’ll learn all of the basic tools, strategies and multi-touch commands needed to make your way through the game. The game makes great use of the iPhone 3G’s accelerometer, making you tilt and turn your iPhone to show your Rolando’s to safety. The game also has a handy ‘iSave’ feature in which your progress is saved and restored automatically. Very cool.
I’m loving this trend of ‘lite’ versions of games and apps in the App Store. Trying before you buy is always a good thing, and in most ‘lite’ versions you get enough of a taste of the app to see if you like it or not.
In Rolando’s case, I highly recommend you check it out. IGN and PocketGamer have both praised it as ‘the best game you can guy for the iPhone’. Big praise. Get ‘Rolando Lite’ here and let me know what you think. The full version of Rolando is available for $5.99.
