Behold, (no, not that one, wrong Samsung device) the glory of Helena Christensen’s jaw-slackening beauty hath declared the Samsung Memoir the lord of all cameraphones, rendering all lesser 8-megapixel camera-bearing devices impotent with lust. As if all that teasing on T-Mobile’s newsletter wasn’t enough to get your average gadget pron geek riled up. Samsung has gone official with their launch of the SGH-t929, pegged at a $299 pricetag and on sale beginning February 25th. Curious about the picture quality? Helena here went on a bit of a spree with the Memoir just to show off what it can do. Specs for the curious include:
- 8 Megapixel camera with Xenon Flash, autofocus, 16 x digital, including Flikr, Kodak, Snapfish and Photobucket sharing services
- Bluetooth
- myFaves
- UMTS and Quadband GSM
- 240 x 400, 1.61″ x 2.64″ TFT touchscreen
- 5.5 hours talk time, 300 standby
- 100 MB internal memory, plus microSDHC
To be honest, Samsung’s event was pretty snoozy, Victoria’s Secret models aside. We’re really holding out for that Omnia HD, or even the Ultra Touch they had shown off in banners about the room. Still, this is a pretty sweet cameraphone for the U.S. market, and should do well. Especially if they keep the models kicking around.
