LG-GM730 Rocks “New” Windows Mobile… 6.5?

img_3142 After taking a video call with Steve Ballmer on their new Watch Phone, it’s clear LG is pretty chummy with Microsoft – so much so that it wouldn’t be a stretch if they got dibs on the latest update to Windows Mobile on their new LG-GM730. The press release is hazy on the subject, likely because the Microsoft event announcing 6.5 was right after LG, but “first smartphone to use new version of Windows Mobile OS” is telling enough. The GM730 will be running S-Class 3D like the Arena, only overlayed onto the Windows Mobile infrastructure. A few of the specifications include:

  • HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HUSPA 2.0 Mbps
  • UMTS 900/2100, 850/900/1800/1900
  • 110 x 56.5 x 11.9mm

Keep an eye out for this one in the first half of 2009.
