Nokia added two new members to its ESeries family of devices – E55 and the “one we knew is coming” – E75. Specs wise we’re talking about very similar (i.e. same) device, which pride themselves with 3.2 megapixel camera, built-in GPS receiver, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.4-inch screen, and Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature pack 2.
The only difference is in the keyboard. While the E75 comes with both full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad, the E55 has some kind of SureType keyboard (they call it “compact QWERTY keyboard”). Naturally, this reflects on the size of the device, hence thanks to its slider mechanism the E75 is much thicker than the E55. More specifically, the Nokia E55 measures 116.5x49x9.9 mm and has a weight of 95 grams. On the other hand, the E75 has dimensions of 111.8x501x14.4 mm and weighs 139 grams.
The Nokia E75 is expected to ship in March at an estimated retail price of 375 EUR. On the other hand, the super-thin E55 will start shipping in Q2 2009 at an estimated retail price will be 265 EUR, before taxes and subsidies…
