The Palm Pre’s rumored mid-May launch window approaches! And, you know what that means. There’s bound to be some folks out there that just couldn’t help but brag about the Palm Pre in their pockets. Thanks to Twitter-er @lo_tony, the Palm Pre has been spotted in the wild again, this time giving us a glimpse of the YouTube and email WebOS applications.
At this point, we’re assuming most WebOS applications, as well as the WebOS itself, are polished off and ready for prime-time. Sprint’s Palm Pre applications-demo proved that the Pre and WebOS will launch with some nifty, well-made applications. These particular in-the-wild shots aren’t as clear as we’d like, so we can’t really glean much more than what the YouTube application UI looks like and how the email composition window is laid-out. Still, it’s good to see the Pre doing its thang in the wild!
All signs are still pointing to a mid-May launch of the Palm Pre on Sprint’s network. With a 3.1-inch capacitance touchscreen, 3G (EVDO Rev. A), 3-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and that new-fangled OMAP3 CPU, the Palm Pre will be one impressive a piece of kit. And, with the “multi-tastic” WebOS capable of running numerous applications at once, the Palm Pre has a chance to go heads-up with the big-dogs from Apple and RIM.
