Latest Palm Pre leak points to June 7 launch on Sprint

There’s been a lot of talk about the Palm Pre launching mid-May on Sprint’s network, but keep in mind that it’s still all speculation. Palm and Sprint go only so far as to promise the Palm Pre will launch sometime in the first half of 2009, we really have no idea when the Pre will launch. Today, we’re hearing that the Palm Pre may actually be launching on or around June 7.

Sprint Gurus mentions that the Palm Pre has, in fact, two distinct launch windows scheduled over the next couple months. We know that Sprint isn’t going to launch the Palm Pre before May 16th and both Palm and Sprint will have to launch the Pre by June 30th, lest they draw the ire of impatient Pre-fans across the US. One of the launches is supposedly slated for June 7th, but the second launch is still a mystery.

The new rumor falls fits in with previously leaked info that had Sprint planning a preliminary Palm Pre launch prior to a general launch. There’s still the possibility that Sprint is planning a mid-May prelim launch with the general launch on June 7. So, until we hear otherwise, the latest rumors point to June 7 as the Palm Pre launch date.
