HTC Snap coming to Sprint as HTC S511

With all this talk about rumored Palm Pre release dates and Android-powered smartphones, we’d almost forgotten about HTC’s consumer-friendly BlackBerry fighter, the HTC Snap. The svelte HTC Snap doesn’t have that “cool” touchscreen cachet, but the comfortable QWERTY keyboard, Pearl-esque trackball and “Inner Circle” smart-email feature make the HTC Snap a messaging handset to watch for. And, so we watch, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Snap on US soil.

Alas, the closest we’ve come to spotting an HTC Snap in the US is in the same recently leaked Sprint internal planning document that sparked the latest Palm Pre rumors. Near the top of the Sprint product-list pictured here, you’ll see the HTC Snap clearly referred to as the HTC Snap S511. Sprint is reportedly testing the HTC Snap S511 in the US, indicating that the Snap may launch by mid-Summer. Of course, grains of salt are highly recommended in this case.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the HTC Snap and put the Inner Circle email feature to good use. Here’s to hoping Inner Circle makes it to The States.
