Late yesterday we brought you news of the Palm Pre supposedly hitting Best Buy stores in limited numbers this June. Now, as somewhat expected, more juicy Palm Pre tidbits are floating around the blogosphere. This time, thanks to the folks over at the SprintGurus forums, we have some details on the Pre Training that will take place at Sprint. Turns out that Sprint employees will head to classes on May 6th to learn all about the Pre… to learn it forwards and backwards. Before entering the training room, employees will be asked (and forced) to leave all phones, cameras, or any other gadget that might be able to make a recording or shot of the event (I’m curious to see if shots still do leak out). Also, they will be asked to sign an NDA before they call it a day.
Interestingly enough, the ‘Pre’ (pun intended) and ‘Post’ speeches have been leaked as well:
Welcome speech as training starts:
As I’m sure you are already aware, the details of the Pre phone have been a closely guarded secret, and we’re proud of that. We’re excited to have reached a point where we can now share with you the details you need to know to support the product. However, this does not mean that our level of security has changed. In fact, we’re asking you to join the ranks of people who will keep the secret.
Wrap-up speech when training comes to an end:
Before we end this training course, please remember that you signed a non-disclosure agreement at the beginning of class today. It is important to not share what you have learned here today with anyone until the Pre phone launches and we begin supporting customers. If customers or friends ask about the phone, direct them to www.sprint.com/palmpre or the Palm Website (www.palm.com) for the latest information.
Also worthy of note, is the training will include 1 Palm Pre for every 5 employees. I know if I was training I’d want to see a 1:1 ratio… I can see groups of Sprint employees huddled over the Pre already…
