More BlackBerry Storm 2 news for y’all this morning. The other day, Simon reported that MobileCity has the Storm 2 on preorder for $649.99 unlocked. Previous to that, we knew that the Storm 2 was probably going to be called the 9550. Today, more information to help confirm the model number as the moniker of choice.

According to Verizon’s inventory system, new ‘dummy’ Storm 2 devices are locked and loaded in inventory. You’ll also notice in the item ID tag to the left that ‘BB9550’ is included… which can only mean that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will indeed be the 9550. Take this for what it’s worth… But as more and more sightings and rumors come about, and with ‘dummy’ devices showing up in inventory, one can’t help but think a Storm 2 launch isn’t that far away. We’ll see.
