Few days ago we spotted at that time unannounced Samsung S9110, adding it will probably be an all-touchscreen device. We we right in some sense, but we didn’t know it will be a watch phone. We now have some additional details to share.
First of all, it’s worth saying that the LG GD910 got some serious competition. Samsung’s baby may not come with a 3G radio, but I don’t think that’s something watch phone owners really need. It’s the look that sells these devices, and considering that the S9110 looks super-cool in that stainless steel metal body and with leather wrist belt, it should sell well.
Specs wise, the S9110 comes with a 1.76-inch touchscreen, dual-band (900/1800 MHz) GSM radio, music player, Bluetooth, voice recognition, 40MB of internal memory, scratch resistant glass, 630mAh battery, and email support. At just 11.98 mm, it’s reportedly the world’s thinnest watch phone, though we haven’t checked this thoroughly.
As for the release date and pricing, Samsung will start selling the S9110 in France for 450 EUR, which is about $639. Exact release date is unknown at this stage, but we don’t think French will have to wait for too long to grab one of these. We wish Samsung a good luck, and are looking forward to try the S9110 ourselves. 😉
