Cricket Wireless considering 10GB data plan for $60

cricket-logoIn this new world of soft-capped wireless data plans, it’s refreshing to see pre-paid wireless carrier Cricket looking to raise the bar. Cricket already offers some of the most affordable wireless data plans on the market, and word on the street has Cricket testing out a new 10GB/month wireless data plan to cater to power users.

The current Cricket 5GB data plan gives users unfettered access to the carrier’s 3G network for $40 per month. After the 5GB cap, Cricket throttles data access – slowing down data speeds rather than levying penalty fees as other carriers do. The $60/month 10GB data plan, which is being tested by a select group of Cricket testers, would offer customers high-speed access to data up to the 10GB cap. No word on whether or not the plan will be offered to the public.
