No, it’s not just you. AT&T (NYSE: T)’s data network is down in SF. We’re seeing reports of the AT&T data network taking a nose-dive in San Francisco. Voice calls are apparently going through in most cases, but AT&T phones are having a hard time connecting to the data network. Interestingly, these reports follow hot on the heels of AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega’s admission that SF and NYC are seriously under-performing on wireless service – which might lead AT&T to institute incentives to discourage heavy data usage on their 3G network.
We’re not in the SF proper, so we’re doing just fine on data. AT&T has yet to respond with an official statement on the matter.

[Update]
@MattBuchanan retweets that an AT&T rep said AT&T data and SMS services are indeed down in San Francisco. The fix is supposedly 24 to 48 hours out. If we were in SF, we’d be livid. In fact, we’re livid on principle alone.
[Update 2]
An AT&T spokesperson emailed us to let us know that the problems were rooted in some hardware problems in downtown San Francisco. Reports indicate that the network is back up in SF.
Anyone still having problems in SF?
