Here’s a great way to take advantage of the iPhone’s built-in accelerometer. Using the application called String Trio, you can simulate playing a violin on your shiny handset or an iPod Touch. The application detects the angle and length of your strokes, and accordingly adjusts the playback of the music. You can choose automatic accompaniment or “go solo” without any backing instruments.
There are over 20 classical and folk songs included with the application, and you can also grab additional 10-track collections for 99 cents, each. The price of the app itself is $1.99. AppStore link is here.
