Bell to Launch ‘Self Serve’ App for Select Devices

This is kind of interesting. I love it when carriers offer additional services to customers, especially when it comes to account management. Not only is it good for the customer, but the provider saves money in the long run too… Let the customer do all the work at his or her own convenience, and everyone wins!

To that end, Bell will apparently push out a new app tomorrow (Jan. 20th) called ‘Self Serve’. The app will be available for the BlackBerry Storm 9530, Tour 9630, and Palm Pre only, via App World and the App Catalog. When opened, ‘Self Serve’ gives customers the ability to check account balances, monitor usage (voice, data, text), and even register for pre-authorized credit card payments.

Groovy. Any Bell customers on the Storm, Tour or Pre looking forward to this? Or could you care less?

Note: I’m hoping Bell will extend the reach of this app to other devices (*cough* iPhone) in the near future. Surely they will?
