A new web service for iPhone/iPod Touch owners has been launched – FreeAppaDay.com. As you can guess from its name, the service offers paid apps for free for 24 hours.
According to the folks behind the scheme, the idea is two-folded: on one side they want to help publishers reach new customers while on the other, assist iPhone and/or iPod Touch owners in finding new apps. And what’s better way to find a new app then to try it out free of charge. That seems to be the (correct) thinking that went behind the creation of the service, which BTW started working this Monday.
One cool feature of FreeAppaDay.com is the opt-in reminder email, which lets users choose app categories of interest and receive an email alert when such an app is offered on FreeAppaDay.com.
Finally, in case you’re wondering who are the developers supporting the site – they are ICS Mobile, Blacksmith Games, OpenFeint, Tapjoy; and I’ve no doubts more companies will join the game in no time.
