belkin-tunecast-auto-live-1 copyIt’s been quite some time since we first heard about the Belkin TuneCast Auto Live FM transmitter for the iPhone, but the wait is finally over. The GPS-enabled FM transmitter is now officially the only iPhone FM transmitter capable of using GPS positioning and crowd-sourced feedback to determine which FM stations are the clearest in your area. Using your iPhone’s GPS geo-location info and a custom radio station ranking system, the Belkin TuneCast Auto Live will automatically transmit your iPhone’s audio over the best possible FM channel available, leaving you free to, you know, drive your car.

Now, before you get too excited for the most advanced FM transmitter on the market, know that the TuneCast Auto Live costs $80. Compared to the $15 analog FM transmitter sitting in our glove compartment. It’s up to you whether the extra cost is worth it, but you definitely get more bang for your buck. It’ll also work with your iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Classic. The iPhone app won’t work on the Nano or Classic, but you still get Belkin’s ClearScan Technology helping you find the best FM signal.
