Hi everyone, my name is Blake Stimac, and I am one of the newest additions to the IntoMobile team. Originally from Texas, I’ve lived in Western Massachusetts for eight years, but for the past two, I’ve called the Mission District in San Francisco home. I have loved mobile phones for many years, but it wasn’t until Android was introduced into the world that my geek flag really started to fly, so that is what my main focus will be.
I’m what you’d call a ‘tinkerer’. I like to break things so I can fix them. From diving into Linux and thinking I’m a pro, to hacking my old LG Viewty to death, I’ve always enjoyed a challenge even if the consequences were possibly losing my beloved device. This is why Android is perfect for me. An operating system made to be modified and hacked? Yes, please! I often hung out at the XDA forums, hacking and flashing different ROMS to my heart’s content. When modding my phone wasn’t enough for me, I began to reach out to the community for ways that I might be able to contribute.
I soon began writing for HTC Source, a site that reports news on HTC Windows Mobile, and Android handsets. I reviewed Android applications for a short time before moving over to Android Release, a dedicated site for Android by the same great, blogoholic, Nick Grey. I continued to write for Android Release until I got wind of an opportunity to write for a site that I check multiple times a day. You guessed it, IntoMobile. I’m very happy to call IntoMobile my new home, as I’ve been a fan for a couple of years now, and being a part of my ‘go-to’ site feels nothing short of awesome.
