CeBIT is the European version of CES, and I don’t mean that in a good way. It’s huge, it’s noisy, and everyone I know who went there said that they’ll never, ever go again. That being said, Nokia is dropping some hints, via their first Nokia Conversations newsletter, that there will be a new Cseries lineup of devices announced at the show. CeBIT is scheduled to take place between March 2nd and March 6th, so if the Finnish company is going to announce something, it’ll probably be tomorrow at the start of the show.
We’ve already seen leaked images of the C5, and an unnamed QWERTY model with a similar design language, so we’re not going to be in too much of a surprise. Nokia’s Cseries looks like it’s meant to bring smartphones into even lower price segments.
Expect to see prices that make your jaw drop, and spec sheets that make you yawn this week. Remember: These devices are not meant for you iPhone carrying, Nexus One hacking, Motorola DROID sexting folks. They’re for everyone else.
