Paragon Software, the company which we usually know for its mobile dictionaries, has teamed up with Encyclopedia Britannica for a dedicated iPhone application. I’m not sure, but I believe that yet again they’ve used their famous SlovoEd engine for the application, allowing such functions as quick (wildcard) searches, history look-ups, auto-complete, favorites and so on.
In total, there are 25,024 unique articles (and 800 images and maps) in the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia 2010, most of which [articles] are cross-linked to give you a wider perspective on some term or subject. Moreover, there’s the “On This Day” feature, ability to share articles with friends via email, and the good ol’ shake your iPhone/iPod Touch for random article.
