The next-gen iPhone has everyone talking these days. Call it what you like, the iPhone 4, the 4G or the HD, one thing is for sure, we’re going to know all about it come end of June/early July via the WWDC. If you’ve already gotten past the CDMA iPhone rumors, have digested the latest iPhone 4G specs, and had a quick looksee at the latest video of a leaked display assembly… why not take a few moments to breathe in a new design mockup, right?
Coming to us from MacPredictions.com is quite a nice looking rendition of what the next-gen iPhone might look like. Note the front-facing camera, the large display and the chrome bezel around the outside of the unit. Reminds me a lot of the iPad, especially in side profile. It’s also worth noting the mockup depicts an aluminum unibody enclosure… a step up and a far cry from the plastic enclosure we’re used to seeing in today’s 3G and 3GS. It would be nice (in my opinion) if a sturdy compromise was reached between the original iPhone (rugged-ish, but heavy), and current gen iPhones (lighter, but too much plastic). An aluminum unibody could be just what the doctor ordered.
While this of course is not the real deal, I can’t see the final product being too far removed from what we see here.
