Gorillaz to get its own iPhone game – Escape to the Plastic Beach

It’s getting a practice for the modern bands and musicians to have their own branded iPhone apps these days. Linkin Park, P!nk, Eminem, Justin Bieber are just some of the artists that “went iPhone.” Now we have another band joining the pack – Gorillaz, which is about to launch the game titled Escape to the Plastic Beach in the AppStore.

The original game is already available on the band’s website. You can play the first two chapters for free, whereas the access to the third one costs 1.5 GBP. And the idea is to bring that third chapter to the iPhone.

From the official game description, we learn that it’s your mission to “guide Murdoc around the Island; dive through thermals, dodge pirate galleons, floating mines and more while trying to stop 2D from escaping.” There are 8 stages to complete, 3D graphics and accelerometer controls.

We don’t have the exact release date nor pricing, though I doubt the game will cost more than 2 GBP when released (considering that the online version costs 1.5 GBP)…
