Video delivery platform company Saffron Digital is bringing its video service to T-Mobile UK’s HTC Desire in partnership with Warner Bros. As a result, T-Mobile customers purchasing the HTC Desire in the first month will be granted access to two complimentary Warner Bros movies from a list of eight titles, which include Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, and The Hangover.
Saffron’s VOD+ video-on-demand platform enables users to watch movies on both their PCs and mobile phones. The best thing about it is that once you pause movie on one device (let’s say a PC), you can continue watching on the other one (mobile phone) from the point when you paused the clip.
As expected, the selection of 8 movies is just a beginning. More Warner Bros films will be added to the VOD+ service over the next few months and will cost 3.49 GBP for new releases and 2.49 GBP for catalogue titles.
HTC Desire will certainly sell like hot cupcakes, but one thing is certain – T-Mobile won’t be its exclusive carrier in the UK, and with the services like Saffron’s VOD+ they may have a differentiating offering.
