Shazam, a service we love at IntoMobile, is a simply application that runs on most major smartphone platforms, including RIM’s BlackBerry and Nokia’s Symbian operating system, feature phones too, that records a brief snippet of a song you’re currently listening to and then sends said recording to a server in a country far far away, where it’s analyzed in milliseconds and then returns said song’s title and artist.
Today they’ve announced that the service has over 75 million users, by the end of the year they should have over 100 million users, and that they’ve recently processed 1 billion requests.
The 1 billionth song? Gettin’ Over by David Guetta.
