So, what’s the latest when it comes to Pearl 3G availability? Well, nothing actually, no news… But I do have a ‘coming soon’ tidbit to share with you. By the looks of things, Virgin Mobile Canada has thrown up a teaser page for the Pearl 9100, listing the device at $49.99 on a 3-year term, or $349.99 off contract. One has to figure this will be the price points we’ll see the Pearl 3G hit on various carriers nationwide, although… The Rogers variant is available now on Best Buy for $79.99 and $449.99. C’mon Rogers, lower those prices!
Getting back to Virgin Mobile Canada, they’ve posted an email update signup, so be sure to click the ‘sign up now’ button if you’d like to be notified when this latest-gen Pearl goes live. Check it out here.
In a sad, oh so sad morsel of news, the Pearl 3G is NOT going to be available in Saskatchewan or Manitoba due to ‘network differences’. I’ve heard this more than once. Booo!
No matter what your carrier of choice is in Canada, the Pearl 9100 will be lighting things up coast-to-coast rather soon. The Rogers 9100 is already available via Best Buy (albeit more expensive), and TELUS has informed me the device is ‘coming soon’. Bell of course has delayed the launch ‘until further notice‘, but I’d be real surprised if we didn’t see the Pearl 3G hit ‘big blue’ before the end of the month.
