If you remember, iVIP is that crazy expensive iPhone app that costs a whooping $1,000! Soon afterwards, the company behind the product released several cheaper (but still not cheap) versions of the application, including iVIP Red and iVIP Blue.
Now they are going local with the launch of iVIP London, which seems as a bargain (compared to the original iVIP Black) at $179.99.
As you can guess, iVIP London grants priority access and preferential rates to luxury partner services across the city, and is the perfect luxury lifestyle complement for residents, business or regular visitors, and tourists and holidaymakers in London. Those residents and visitors are supposed to be super rich when they’re willing to pour out $180 for an app!
Anyway, on one hand I like the fact that we have such a range of different mobile apps that some companies can even charge north of $100 for their work. I really hope that strategy works as it proves that even the richest of people are getting smartphone savvy these days and that’s a good thing for the whole industry…
