The Motorola i1 is currently being offered by Sprint-Nextel and SouthernLINC Wireless, is anyone else interested? Boost Mobile, which as you may know is owned by Sprint-Nextel, will join the party, too.
We don’t know all the details like the exact availability date and pricing, but we know the MVNO will sell the rugged Android baby exclusivity through Best Buy. Moreover, customers will be able to pair it with Boost’s $50 unlimited data/web/text plan, which is a great news, especially for those of you hating dedicated (and more expensive) smartphone plans.
As for the price, Boost will in its manner sell the device unsubsidized, meaning it will probably cost you about 250 bucks to grab the i1. That’s still speculative, but that’s the amount the carrier asks for the BlackBerry 8330, which is the most expensive phone (or at least among the most expensive ones) in their portfolio.
In the meantime, while you’re waiting for Boost Mobile’s official press release, check out our post featuring Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe talking about the Motorola i1 and why it’s so great.
