It seems big pharma wants to ride the iWave, too. Lately we caught Bayer launching the iPhone app, myBETAapp, to assist Betaseron (interferon beta-1b) patients in managing their multiple sclerosis treatment.
The application was unveiled as part of Bayer’s patient support program, BETAPLUS, and it provides patients with injection reminders, injection site rotation assistance and injection history. Moreover, through the Internet, myBETAapp also gives patients access to the BETAPLUS web page from where users can access links to educational tools and get peer support. Patients enrolled in the BETAPLUS program can dial directly to speak to BETA Nurses, who are specially trained in MS.
And in case you don’t know (I just found about it), BETASERON (interferon beta-1b) is indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis to reduce the frequency of clinical exacerbations.
