Apple has apparently been sending out e-mails telling iPhone customers who are set up for iPhone 4 home deliveries that they will be getting their handsets a day early – June 23. Say what?! Apple is notorious for keeping strict launch and delivery dates and have gone as far as telling delivery companies not to ship until Apple says go. So, it’s nothing short of a surprise to find that the Cupertino based company has been sending out e-mails telling customers that they will get their iPhone units a day early.
Some eager customers across the web are showing June 23 delivery dates for the iPhone 4 by FedEx, but we all know how reliable that is. FedEx can show one thing, but Apple can ultimately decide when it wants to pull the trigger. Even then, plenty of screen shots thrown up on the web and on social networking sites have shown FedEx delivery date of the 23rd with a deliver-by time of 10:30 a.m. If the timing proves to be true, lucky iPhone 4 customers!
The icing on the cake has to be the e-mails that Apple itself is sending out. That’s right, those who ordered the hot new smartphone have been receiving e-mails that read:
Dear Apple Store Customer,
You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.
This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.
In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.
Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team
I almost don’t want to believe how awesomely awesome this is. Oh yeah. If you get your device on the 23rd, I want you to come back here and post pictures or links to pictures in the comments and show off your goods. Or better yet, find your nearest Apple store and run down the line with your new phone in hand and gloat until you can’t gloat anymore! Just don’t drop the thing, eh?
