Automated handset testing service provider, Perfecto Mobile, said that Vodafone Ventures has made a minority investment in the company, joining existing investors – Carmel Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital. Perfecto will use the money to further develop its Perfecto Mobile Handset Cloud mobile application testing software, add more handset models to the system, as well as expand to other geographies and networks.
The company’s Handset Cloud solution allows developers to test their apps on an actual mobile device rather than an emulation environment. The service is accessed through a secure IP connection, enabling developers to test their apps on various networks and incorporate this process into their QA, porting and deployment cycles.
The service is currently deployed in Europe and North America and will soon be expanding to Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Vodafone pioneered the implementation of a private Vodafone Handset Cloud, which is powered by the Perfecto Mobile technology, and that allows developers to test their Vodafone 360 widgets.
