As you probably know, thousands of products on supermarket shelves are made with ingredients from genetically modified crops. But GM foods are not labeled in the U.S., despite warnings from doctors and scientists that these foods may not be safe in the diet or the environment…

Enter “True Food Shoppers Guide,” the iPhone app developed by the Center for Food Safety, designed to tell consumers whether there are GM ingredients in the food they buy so they could make informed purchasing decisions.

Using the application, you will quickly learn which brands to look for, and to look out for. There are also other content sections such as “Four Simple Tips” that helps you avoid GM ingredients as you shop around.

In addition, you can access contact information for companies that do use GM ingredients, and eventually contact them to voice your opposition. Finally, by tapping on the “Take Action” icon, you will be able to contact state and federal agencies and officials to demand better regulatory oversight, safety testing and labeling laws for GM foods and crops…
